APOTEX CENTRE

As part of the Place Riel Expansion project, two floors totalling approximately 1480 sq.m. were added to the project as decant space for a future tenant.

Later in the project, the U of S commissioned SEPW Architecture Inc., to design new office and treatment spaces for the University's Student Health and Counselling Department - in keeping with the mandate that the expansion to Place Riel house as many student-related functions as possible. Student counselling was placed on the third floor, and student health was located on the fourth. Both floors were linked by an internal stair for the convenience of staff and patients.

The counselling space includes its own reception and private waiting area, ten psychotherapy treatment rooms and spaces for social work, dietitian services, case conferencing and support. A multi-purpose room is also included on the floor for special events.

The Student Health Clinic, being much larger than the former space in Qu'Appelle Hall, greatly expands the services able to be provided to students. Spaces incorporated into this floor include separate reception and waiting, 15 exam rooms, an isolation exam room, a minor surgical procedures suite, chiropractic and massage service spaces, 10 practitioners' offices, lab, and other critical support spaces.
