SaskPower Saskatoon Service Centre

SEPW Architecture Inc. was commissioned to establish the programmatic requirements, a schematic design, and an early opinion of cost for a new SaskPower Service Centre in Saskatoon.  This information was originally to be used as a basis for a design-build document issued by the Saskatchewan Property Management Corporation (now Ministry of Central Services) on behalf of SaskPower.  Due to budgetary concerns, the new facility was never completed.

Approximately one year after the completion of the programmatic exercise, SEPW was commissioned directly by SaskPower to assess the condition of an existing facility for sale in Saskatoon.  Our firm was to review and comment on the capability of this former fibre optic cable manufacturing plant to sustain SaskPower’s programmatic requirements established earlier.

After the SaskPower program was proven to be a good fit, our firm was commissioned to provide full architectural services for the retrofit of the building.  The retrofit included major renovations to the warehouse area to incorporate new vehicular maintenance shops complete with service pits and overhead cranes.
