TEMPLE GARDENS MINERAL SPA EXPANSION

The hotel expansion comprising 87 new guestrooms, was done in conjunction with a new casino and parkade development. North and east facing guestrooms have balconies affording views to downtown Moose Jaw and Crescent Park. The architectural appearance of the addition reflects the architecture of the existing building, ensuring a new cohesive development for downtown Moose Jaw. It is expandable by two additional floors, providing an additional 58 future guest rooms.

The expansion is connected with the existing hotel by a two level, overhead walkway. One level is climate controlled while the level above is open air and roofed, connecting the upper floor of the expansion with the roof top patio at the spa pool floor. A lobby area connects the hotel expansion to a new casino built next to the hotel expansion.

An earlier expansion to the north was done over an existing annex of the original building, expanding by adding two floors.

A planning study was done for the hotel for a conference centre. This was proposed to go over the existing parkade structure to the south and allow for potential expansion of the casino. The concept is for a modern edifice, using the expression of a gentle wave of water through the gentle curvature and colouration of the glazed façade, which would use a ceramic frit screen on the glazing to further texture the main feature wall of the exterior. Scale and materials would be complimentary to the historic buildings along Main and High Streets.
