THE JAMES

This former 13-storey apartment building was connected to an existing downtown hotel. The hotel's owner commissioned SEPW Architecture Inc. to complete a feasibility study, and then design and contract documents to convert the existing apartment building into Saskatoon's foremost boutique hotel.

As architectural planning consultant for the base building conversion, SEPW Architecture Inc. worked with the client to redesign the existing entrance, lounge, lobby and exit routes; to redesign, combine and convert apartment suites into boutique hotel rooms; to incorporate semi-private dining and exercise spaces; to redesign staff areas and to bring other aspects of the building up to current codes, which included replacing one of the building's elevators.

The new entrance canopy and interior design shown in the attached images were completed by others.
