RIVER LANDING DIRECT CONTROL DISTRICT

Prior to moving forward with the sale of downtown lands on the South Saskatchewan River waterfront in downtown Saskatoon, SEPW Architecture Inc. was commissioned by the City of Saskatoon to review the DCD1 development bylaw applicable to the sites currently known as River Landing.  The intent of the exercise was to examine what could be constructed within the zoning regulations at the time.  SEPW participated in public consultations to present the analysis and to gather feedback on the results.  Based on our review and the public feedback, SEPW suggested clarifications to the bylaw.  The City of Saskatoon then undertook planning revisions to further regulate the area.

Subsequent to our study of the south downtown direct control zoning district, SEPW was commissioned to create architectural guidelines which were added as a regulated overlay to the area.  The architectural guidelines developed by SEPW now form part of the zoning bylaw for this district, affecting all new construction in the area.  The projects shown here were completed by others.
